Ohio Christian University closed on Andrew Lloyd Weber’s The Phantom of the Opera on April 13th with a record-breaking production run. With 1,231 tickets sold for the three performances, The Phantom of the Opera has broken the school record for most-attended theater production. With a nearly full house on opening night, the cast and crew felt very loved and supported by family, friends, community members and the university.

Our incredible cast included Benjamin Woodland ’24 as the Phantom, Holly Gillham ’24 as Christine Daaé, and Daniel McQueen ‘25 as Vicomte Raoul de Chagny, who truly carried the weight of this show as the three leading vocalists. We could not be prouder of their vocal achievements, which of course were made possible through the efforts of our Vocal Director, Dr. Dione Bennett. We cannot thank her enough for lending her personal expertise to this show and providing students with operatic training. These efforts especially showed when our youngest cast member and graduating high school senior, Stormi Overby, showcased Dr. Bennett’s training in her role as Carlotta. In addition to our very talented leads, the whole group gave amazing performances and our production team could not have been happier with the results.

Our entire cast and crew would like to thank everyone who came to support the show! This team stepped up to the vocal, acting and technical challenges of this production and, after months of long rehearsals, were so excited to bring this show to life and share those efforts with a live audience. We cannot wait to share another season of theater productions in the 24-25 academic year!

Upcoming production information will be available soon at ohiochristian.edu/dramateam.
