2023 Scholars Day Winner

Ohio Christian University’s Scholars Day competition for the three Commitment to Excellence full-tuition scholarships has successfully concluded, and we are proud to announce that Moriah Ewen, Leah Bouldin and Kiley Wray have been selected as the scholarship recipients.

After three rounds of interviews, these three outstanding students received the highest marks. The Scholars Day panelists were thoroughly impressed by all of the candidates this year, and our three winners had strong competition during the interview process. However, we are confident that Moriah, Leah and Kiley will be well-deserving of their Commitment to Excellence awards.

Moriah Ewen is a graduating homeschool student from Circleville, OH who has already completed several semesters with OCU’s Trailblazer Academy College Credit Plus program. Some of her community involvement includes serving as a worship leader at church and completing many 4-H projects and presentations. Finally, she works as a barista and manager at JoyHouse Coffee in Circleville and loves being a part of a ministry-minded coffee shop that serves the local community. Moriah plans to study business at Ohio Christian University this fall.

Leah Bouldin is a graduating homeschool student from Roanoke, VA, and she is heavily involved in Honor Society and her volleyball team. Leah now serves as the President of her Honor Society, and she organizes monthly meetings, guest speakers and service projects for their group. As a part of her volleyball experience, Leah has used the skills she gained as a player to then train younger players through private lessons and even work as an assistant coach and director for volleyball camps. Leah is interested in potentially pursuing a degree within our School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Kiley Wray is graduating from Madison Christian Junior-Senior High School and resides in Columbus, OH. At Madison Christian, Kiley helps lead praise and worship for school chapels, completes service projects as a part of National Honor Society and serves as a volunteer coach with her school’s youth sports program. Kiley is also the founder and director of Hoops and Jesus, a youth basketball clinic program. In this program, students get to grow in their basketball skills while also growing closer to God.

Ohio Christian University is very excited to add these three Commitment to Excellence recipients to our Trailblazer family, and we look forward to seeing them continue their academic and spiritual journey on campus this fall.
